The Drug Design Resource is produced for the drug design community by BioVillage Ltd, a biotechnology information company based in Cambridge, UK. Founded by two scientists with considerable experience of drug discovery, chemical biology and molecular biology, both in academia and the pharmaceutical industry, Biovillage's mission centres on early-stage drug discovery.
Dr David Bailey headed up the Molecular Sciences Department at Pfizer in Sandwich for 8 years, before becoming Vice President at the Californian biotech company Incyte Genomics. He was then founding CEO of two Cambridge-based start-ups, De Novo Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Purely Proteins Ltd. Currently, he is co-founder and acting CEO of IOTA Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Consultant Entrepreneur at the University of Greenwich in London, and Board Director at the BBSRC Babraham Institute in Cambridge.
Dr Ed Zanders has an extensive research background in biochemistry and immunology through over thirty years’ experience in academia and industry. He spent 16 years at Glaxo in the UK and Switzerland where he was a Senior Research Manager with responsibility for drug discovery programmes in inflammatory diseases. He later joined De Novo Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Purely Proteins Ltd in VP positions. In addition to co-founding BioVillage Ltd, he has also established a pharmaceutical training company, ScienceInform Ltd.
